Q. What is a Pre–Funeral?


A. Pre–Funeral is the period leading up to the funeral. A period of time before the funeral. An example of a Pre–Funeral reflection would be a terminally ill patient.

Q. What is a Post–Funeral?


A. Post–Funeral is the period following the date of the funeral. An example of a Post–Funeral reflection would be someone who has lost a loved one. The person may have departed recently or perhaps many years ago.

Clients who wish to have a Post–Funeral want a tribute to reminisce times and places as a salute or small mark of respect.

Q. We have created our own presentation. Can we use Passing Reflections to present our own DVD?


A. Absolutely, we are able to travel, set–up and control the presentation provided there is enough room at the venue. We use a Digital Light Projector to display the images so a degree of light control would be advisable.

eg. Drawn curtains and lights to be switched off easily.

Q. What Areas of Melbourne do you cover?


A. All suburbs of Melbourne are covered. Extra travel charges apply to NE‚ N‚ NW‚ and W suburbs.

Q. Do you service outside of Melbourne?


A. We also Service Rural Victoria within reason. Travel charges determined on application.

Q. Do you service Interstate clients?


A. Yes‚ we can correspond via email‚ phone and letter‚ receive and deliver your media by post/courier depending on your time restrictions.

Q. How Much does the service cost?


A. The service has packages that cater for your memorial needs. Our bundled packages offer a quick reference for your situation. A taylored package can be arranged on request. Prices will vary when ordering a taylored package and we recommend you consider your time restrictions whilst planning your tribute.

Q. Can I add extra photos‚ music and video to the package I have selected?


A. Yes‚ you may select a package that roughly suits your needs and add to it as you see fit. All extra features incur a charge so please mention these extras when obtaining a quote.

Q. What does media mean?


A. Media is what we use to create a reflection (tribute).

Q. What if the media I have to use in the reflection is larger than an A4 (standard) piece of paper?


A. Passing Reflections can take a picture of your image with a digital camera.

Q. I have a framed images that I’d like to use but I cannot get them out to be scanned?


A. Using a digital Camera‚ we can capture the image without removing the framed photo/certificates from the frame.

This option is for a House call only

Q. Do you accept work for Weddings‚ Milestone Birthdays etc.?


A. Yes‚ we are currently working in conjunction with Susan D’Arcy photography to incorporate Weddings‚ Parties and anything.

Q. Do you present the final DVD for a special occasion?


A. Yes‚ we have the necessary presentation equipment to present the DVD at your special event. A technician will travel to your event or function‚ set up the equipment‚ and ensure things run smoothly.

Q. How is the DVD presented?


A. Presenting the final reflective piece is done with a digital light projector. This technology requires a degree of light control for an effective presentation. eg. drawn curtains‚ little sunlight and enough space to set–up equipment — Approximately 4x4 metres.

Q. What happens if I don’t want to have Passing Reflections visit my home and gather the media?…What are my delivery options?


A. We can accept your media via the Australian Postal Service. Registered Mail is received the next business day. You may have time restrictions and choose to use a courier service or in extreme cases a taxi cab.

Q. Is there a deposit necessary?


A. The following explains the deposit requirements:

Q. Do you accept cheques‚ efpost‚ credit cards?


A. Yes‚ we use the PayPal online funds transfer‚ commonly used by eBay customers around the world. All major Credit Cards are accepted. Passing Reflections recommends this method of payment to ensure your reflection is produced on time.

Q. What do i need to do if I choose to courier the photos?


A. You will need to mark the photos in order of appearance. The most common method is in chronological order (youngest to oldest). Marking with Post–it notes is a clean and clear way to mark the photo’s and convey the correct order. Post–it notes also allow space for comments eg. don't cut out the car in the background.

Q. Can we do a reflection of our family pet?


A. Yes‚ we are able to commemorate the family pet provided there is enough media.

Q. I have digital files from my camera‚ does this reduce the cost?


A. Unfortunately no‚ we spend as much time on image quality when dealing with digital files as we do for scanned images.

Q. How long till we receive our DVD?


A. Copies for funerals or special events are issued immediately after they are completed‚ without the cover artwork and case. The casing is sent approximately 3 weeks later to ensure spelling and number of copies are correct.

Copies that are not for funerals or special events‚ are issued complete with Covers‚ Casing and Artwork within a 3 week period.

Q. Why would I need Passing Reflections to take a photo?


A. Some images are not as easy to digitize as others. For example: Photos that are framed on a wall; Maps that are to large to fit on a A4 Flat Bed Scanner; Maybe a person that has not been photographed and needs to be included.

Q. What is considered too late for a Funeral Presentation?


A. Two Days before the funeral/event is usually the limit. However, it is recommended that you call us to be sure. There may be circumstances that could allow us to ‘squeeze’ in a suitable reflection.
